Quick Quip- Don’t Walk Away- 1/7/24

Sorry for the huge delay in not writing on this site. I have not gotten on here for quite some time. Hopefully I will get back to posting here as often as I was before!

I was heading home and hearing a song on the radio. It was by Phil Wickham and the song is titled “I Believe.” It made me and I am sure countless others realize again and again their awe of God and what He has done in mine and others lives. But what got me choked up was the part that was the second part of the bridge: “How could I ever walk away from the gospel of Jesus Christ?”

How great is His faithfulness to us in our lives? He knew us before we knew Him (But God demonstrates His own love toward us, in that while we were still sinners, Christ died for us. -Romans 5:8), He also knows so much about us. In fact He knows everything about us and cares about us (But the very hairs on your head are all numbered. Do not fear therefore; you are of more value than many sparrows. -Luke 12:7), and He wants us to choose to know Him as well as grow with Him in life (Draw near to God and He will draw near to you. Cleanse your hands, you sinners; and purify your hearts, you double-minded. -James 4:8).

Also He knew we would fall into sin but He still wanted us to choose to follow Him eventually. It is why He needed to send His son Jesus Christ who would die for the sins of the world, be buried and be resurrected from the dead.

Living in the power of the holy spirit to lead our lives sounds like a great thing. Being faithful as much as possible is full of so much adventure in this life. It would be different to anyone else to the point one might not label it an “adventure” but living for Him is rewarding, joy-filled, and also if times get tough the chance to really depend on God for all things.

Have you walked away from the church? Have you ever thought about possibly following the Lord Jesus for the first time in your life?

Don’t walk away but listen to His call to know Him and I hope you live a life worthy to God.

Quick Quip- Freedom from Love 7/11/21

Have to do a quick one. Think of this as a part devotion, part something I wnat to explore more in the future…!

If we are free from the punishment of sin we are free to do His will and live for Him. We are also free to love each other in Christ’s love. As a church body works, we have much to do on our own but we must also love each other:

Love is patient, love is kind. It does not envy, it does not boast, it is not proud. It does not dishonor others, it is not self-seeking, it is not easily angered, it keeps no record of wrongs.

In my version of 1 Corinthians 13:4-5 it says in the last part love “thinks no evil.”

God loves us so much we are no longer accountable to our sin, which means we won’t get what we once deserved for it (hell). But that does not mean we are free to dabble in what we once were saved from. That is a dangerous thought!

It’s treachery to the Holy Spirit and there are always consequences to sin, especially if we are doing it recklessly or without thinking it as a big deal.

That is why we must stay focused on what Jesus wants in our lives. Here’s a final verse:

“For you were called to freedom, brothers. Only do not use your freedom as an opportunity for the flesh, but through love serve one another.” Galatians 5:13

We must serve one another not get stuck in reckless sin. We must love and not guide each other towards evil and make each other fall.

We must keep our eyes on the One to guide us. The Holy Spirit and His word will let us know what we should do! This is freedom directly from the love of Jesus. By His death we live so let’s spend time helping and showing kindness towards one another as a group of believers.

We should do what we’re made to do (or do what we should be called to do if we have become a new creation!).

Quick Quip My Redeemer Lives

Sorry this will be like a quick remark but be also a blog note too, only about how I feel at this moment now.

I’ve just been heavy from a sorrow. Why is life so tough about being strong on where you stand?

I was thinking of how I know what I was saved from and the world (and others) both think that is what everyone is. That that might be the way a church person might be that struggles with it. To them, there is no change after that kind of past. It’s a “present” and a future!

Life in Christ is real: I know my redeemer lives. I know it!

Where to Stand- Quick Quip 7/6/21

This might be later in some time zones, but here where I live it still is the 6th, haha…!

My bible devotion from this morning was in Second Timothy 4:17: “The Lord will stand with you and give you strength.” I used to stand for a lot of things. One was my intellect, another was my heart with matters I knew weren’t good but I followed them recklessly anyway. Both were not good!

It is good to have intelligence but mine was not built on anything that could stand. I should tell people who think they “know” the wisdom of all that matters that what my thoughts were in actuality were like a “house” of lies. They stood against the truth of God’s Word. Following His ways I also have seen how awesome it is to be in Him, God’s Son Jesus Christ. Also the bible says, “If God is for us, who can be against us?” Romans 8:31.

I hope one day you will ‘stand’ for what is true. Let it be from something that is truth as well!

Quick Quip Wisdom- 7/5/21

To have wisdom means to have applied knowledge. That means what one has learned them is something that helps guide them through life, like markers that are now in the road that are put there by the one who knows where to go.

What I need to know in wisdom is what to do about what I should do about people doing things that appear to be illegal. I have the ability to tell the authorities but I also hope that someone doesn’t get lost who happens to be pulled into that group, trying to live for money to get by. I hope that “someone” actually appreciates this! Anyway that is all I can really say about it.

So I don’t get on with that tangent, all I need overall in this situation is wisdom. This is a person who has been with us a number of years. I do care about that person though I don’t always show it (and I apologize when I haven’t gotten along and made immature ways to show I was annoyed the person was still around).

You see I found out just this year that my Godly gift is to be merciful. Though there are limits (and I will show that soon!) I have to still show love towards others as this is all a huge learning lesson. What are the limits but also what can I do to show the ones the Love of Christ?

And how can I use this applied knowledge for the future, when I will live for myself and in confidence?

God give me wisdom to use every day but also lead the way in my life though the path is pretty hard!

Amen.

Happy is the man who finds wisdom, And the man who gains understanding Proverbs 3:13

If any of you lacks wisdom you should ask God, who gives generously and to all without finding fault, and it will be given to you. James 1:5

Quick Quip: Trust God!

My devotion was Psalm 31. Which was great as grief was getting to me and I barely had enough time to think a lot of what the chapter said so I’ll do so tonight. Was really busy! Had a doc appmt, then work which I barely got to because transportation stinks, and after that got hassled by a bunch of things after I got home, haha! Felt “out of it” b4 I could rest or even get any sleep!

Sometimes you have to realize you need God not because He is a good being or that it is nice to treat others like a “good” Christian. There is so much more to this life. I am hurt when people claim sharing the faith is just merely an ‘agenda’ because it’s not that at all. It’s being grateful for the amazing supernatural grace and love of Christ!

I don’t care if you’re an overly-religious person, I don’t care if you’ve had trouble with drugs, I don’t care if you struggle with pornography, with not knowing whether you’re straight or gay, that life has caused you to become atheist: You are loved and important to God!

Right now, politics don’t matter! We talk about them way too much, haha. Let’s share each other’s hearts to one another, not shout down people just because they follow a different “stance” than others, let’s act with love so that we can “BE” love to others! In order to love others, we must search our hearts and see why we do the very things that we do.

Do you live for love or is it hate? Then see if there is a way to love if your goal in life is the latter. Love others. Treat others the way you want to be treated. That is not a “revenge” scenario, this is a golden rule of LOVE.

Love and trust in something you never knew was holding your hand all this time. Did you know that before you can love God, He first loved you? Believers find that out every day!

Just show kindness to others. Don’t make other people’s day awful because their might be a personal agenda involved. I don’t mean this in pride month, I mean there are others that actively deceive and run and mess with things because… it’s a heart that needs changing.

May yours be changed. Will it be today? Guess what…?

Jesus loves You. Trust God today.

Hope Anew…!

How are you doing, friend. There are going to be some big changes coming, not yet on this blog, but ones where I have to do extra preparations in order for that to happen!

Anyway I don’t like to advertise (maybe that’s my problem, haha. I used to have a big dream to be involved in the world of business but… that’s not as “big” a dream now) so I will say “I digress” and move on!

I hope that you cling to glad hope in something that is greater than yourself. That you show love to your family, your caregiver, whoever in life is love for you may you show that love right back!

These are times for opportunity, times to do things one wouldn’t normally do, like witness, share from something that happened from your life, heck even ask someone to pray for you if you struggle!

There is always a hope in the midst of despair, a love that is greater than we can ever imagine, and a Jesus who paid for everything we think might be impossible.

Have hope.

At least I hope you now have hope “anew” anyway at this very moment!

Jesus, I pray this reader genuinely finds hope that will be new and mercy that is refreshed as well as the day is bright. Thank you Lord!

11/17/19 Quick Quip- God speak.

Was experiencing just this very thing where I was expecting God to talk to me but not reading His Word or making an effort to actually listen to Him. At church the message was about God seeming to be “unfair” and the so-called silence that people claimed God was being to them. Without grumbling I am just humbly saying I can be so blind to His will sometimes…

We think sometimes God is not hearing us. Depending on the situation God might want us to learn something we don’t see in that moment, that time. We can use that so-called lack of voice to grow, to depend more on God. But I plead we must never think God’s “silence” means He has abandoned us.

Quick Quip-Restoration

Sometimes God will do things beyond what we expect. I even think of my testimony where God had transformed a part of my life that I thought only I could do (or at least try to succeed at it- I failed) and He did the impossible because of the change I had through Jesus Christ.

But actually God can if you know Him do things you can’t expect. He can restore Your life if you live for Him! But not everything is instant in happening in your life though; in fact sometimes you have to wait on Him for certain things (while that happens, build up your character in Christ) but it will be worth it.

I have not reached certain parts of my life I hope to achieve yet. I thought I was going to be married to someone, have kids, etc. but a lot of things in life got in the way (mainly my fault). In church just this past week, all I could think of was that I probably had a few things to give up: things I needed to bring to God and lay the burden on Christ (mainly using bad language even when I’m alone. I don’t like to admit that). But up until then I was seeing God doing many things in my life leading me up to Sunday and felt the tugging in my life. That was when I poured my heart out to Him in tears praying I will live for Him with all my heart. I want to give my all to Him.

I wasn’t going to just only give up little things while other things I knew were not good would just be like a hobby. I wasn’t going to half-“donkey” it. (You know what word I mean by that….). No but instead I feel that I should give back to the Lord, everything as much as I realized the day I was completely transformed by Christ.

Even believers need to be refreshed in the spirit and be restored to what God wants them to be at that point in their life. This is not saying that in one day you will be pretty much 100% like Christ (that is where sanctification comes in. Also it’s a process only we will never be perfect, not until we are gone from this earth).

I was reading a devotion by Max Lucado recently and one thing caught my eye. The title for that day was “A Complete Restoration” (just to note I wasn’t going in order like one would normally with devotional stuff like this). It says that God “has” to change us. If we aren’t changed by Him what can He do in your life? He must take down walls of hatred and replace them and other things with His goodness. We need to be transformed and restored or else what can we be when it comes to showing the light of Christ so that others can seek Him?

Quick Quip- More than just a Fan

Some churches have a strange agenda. They think it’s a good idea to take in people unchanged by the gospel and then have them a part of the ministry. This is only to increase numbers and to also tell people on the outside that “Hey, we are not like those judgemental church people. We’re the cool ones!” But what they don’t realize is how dangerous that is.

What is the point of the gospel? It is the good news!

It is where the holy spirit after initially saving someone eternally they will then try to learn grow in that life and be changed from the inside out. But some churches like I previously referred to act like they are more of a fan club. They only skim a person’s comfort zone like they are hoping the person will be okay and be on their side.

Doing that is not only halting Christ’s kingdom but is not lasting in the long run. There is a huge difference with having something like a fanclub which can easily end in a month but an eternity is forever no matter where a soul ends up going. Ultimately there are only two locations at the end of life: There is to be in Heaven or hell.

I choose to be more than just a fan. This is for me and the people around us not because I’m “judgemental” as people would accuse but because what God’s word says is in contrast to what we may expect; but it is also beneficial if we want to go to heaven and also on this earth guide people who will disciple others in leading them towards Jesus.
